
A new group has been formed in Bartlemy this week in response to a proposed solar farm development in the area.
While a planning application has not yet been made with regard to the proposed development, it is understood that locals have been approached by a company, informing them of plans for the new development in the Ballinure area.
On Monday night, a meeting was held and a committee formed with Dermot Johnson appointed as the chairperson of Bartlemy Preservation Group. Speaking to The Avondhu, Mr Johnson said that the group are not against solar panels, but said that several concerns exist regarding the proposal for a solar farm in Bartlemy.
