Due to several episodes of dog fouling at Fr Ferris Park, Castlelyons especially on the walkway, it was only a matter of time before drastic action had to be taken. Spy cameras have been installed in the hope of stopping this happening in the park, wireless cameras relaying visual activity to a screen are being recorded. There is no excuse for this activity as all dog owners are well aware that it is their responsibility to clean up after their dogs and the necessary bags are very cheap.

It is also a problem on the footpath from Castlelyons village to Stables Cross, please – consider other pedestrians and children using this footpath or any other public amenity.

Where necessary, acts of blatantly ignoring the policy regarding dog fouling will be brought to the attention of the necessary authorities.

So dog owners beware, this camera may just wipe the smile off your face!

James Ronayne,

Castlelyons.
