The opening Bluegrass concert in Kilworth each year is eagerly anticipated and with a 6-piece band of the calibre of The Petersens, seats are going to be scarce to come by for their concert on Monday, January 21 so, with that in mind, early booking is strongly advised.
And this even moreso by virtue of the fact that they come with a strong recommendation from none other then Daniel O’Donnell.
This time The Pteresens come as a six piece band with the addition of dobro player and vocalist Emmett Franz, who happens to be the only non family member.
All the way from Branson, Missouri, The Petersens are excellent instrumentally as well as being accomplished vocalists, but it is their sibling harmonies that make them a stand out ‘not to be missed’ band.
Boasting great arrangements of classic Bluegrass, Gospel and Country music, their original material is also excellent.
The band features Ellen Petersen on banjo and vocals, Julianne Petersen (mandolin/vocals), Katie Petersen (fiddle/vocals) – Matt Petersen (guitar/vocals), Karen Petersen (bass/vocals) and Emmett Franz (dobro/vocals).
Starts 8pm, tickets €15 available now from The Avondhu offices in Fermoy (025-32227) and Mitchelstown (025-24451), Cotter’s Bar, Kilworth (025-43615) or from 087-6492514.
