Works to the tune of €105,000 are set to be complete by the middle of next week along a section of the R639 Fermoy to Mitchelstown road.
A pedestrian and cycle path is currently under construction on the old Cork-Dublin road, connecting Fermoy to the roundabouts for the M8 and on to the Moorepark and Teagasc campuses.
The path is to cover a distance of 575 metres and will, when complete, provide a 3-metre wide path with advisory road markings indicating that it is a shared space, offering improved safety for those walking and cycling.
