Scoil Mhuire in Araglin are one of just ten schools in Ireland to win €10,000 in the Aldi Play Rugby Sticker promotion – a great boost for any school at a time when fundraising is particularly difficult.

Throughout the year, posters were filled up with stickers collected by pupils and staff alike, which were sent off in September to enter the competition.

Normally finishing in June, this year’s competition was extended due to Covid-19 meaning it was Monday, October 9 when principal Corrina Ahern received to call to say that Scoil Mhuire were one of the top prize winners.

“It was a complete shock to be quite honest, it was just brilliant, it really, really was.

“€10,000 for our school! We’re only a school of 77 children so it’s a lot of money for us,” Principal Ahern told The Avondhu.
