Ballyporeen native, transgender and LGBT+ campaigner Saoirse Mackin, is to be one of the State’s first transgender election candidates.
Saoirse Mackin has been selected by the Social Democrats to contest the 2024 Local Elections in the Cork City North West area.
Speaking at the selection convention in Cork’s Metropole Hotel on Thursday last, November 30, Ms Mackin said she ‘feels honoured’ with the selection.
