Londis retailers from every corner of the country descended on the Sheraton Hotel, Athlone in Co Westmeath for the 2018 Londis Retailing Awards.

Not new to receiving awards, Roche’s Londis from Doneraile was named as the ‘Fresh Store of the Year’ and the ‘Deli and Hot Foods Store of the Year’ at the annual awards recently.

Represented by proprietors John and Majella Roche, the popular store scooped the special bursary of €20,000 for the once off award of ‘Fresh Store of the Year’ and picked up a prestigious Retail Excellence accolade.

Running for over 20 years, the Londis Retailing Awards recognise stores that excel across all areas of store performance.

On receiving their awards, John Roche said: “We are thrilled to receive these prestigious awards, which is testament to the extremely hard working team that we have in store. This accolade is not only a mark of pride for our store and staff, but importantly it shows our customers that we are passionate about delivering a top quality service. This is a very important point of differentiation in what is a very competitive marketplace and we’re honoured to have received this award.”
