In the wonderful new Mitchelstown Library, Seachtain na Gaelge continues till March 14th and the Peter Robinson emigrant ships display by Elaine Sweeney O’Toole continues at to impress.

In the wonderful new Mitchelstown Library, Seachtain na Gaeilge continues till March 14th. The Peter Robinson emigrant ships display by Elaine Sweeney O’Toole continues at to impress and will be on show until end of March in the library. It depicts assisted emigration of farmers and workers in 1825 from the parish of Mitchelstown, Brigown, Templetenny to Ottawa Canada. Emigrant descendants from Canada will visit in September.

A genealogy workshop which will help you learn to trace your family tree by Shamrock Clan Search will be conducted in the library on March 23rd from 10am-12 noon.

Don’t forget the Minnie Ryan School of Dance concert at The Firgrove Hotel on March 17 at 8pm. See Mitchelstown pages at facebook/mitchelstowngathering2013 for many more events. Assist people trying to find their relatives by seeing the parish page.
