Concerned residents of Springfield Estate, Fermoy have spoken out about dangerous pedestrian crossings where a number of ‘near misses’ have occurred.

Residents are speaking out now about the matter in the hopes of securing added safety measures for the area which connects the estate to a playground, a matter which local Councillor Noel McCarthy said he intends to bring to the attention of the council.

One such resident is Linda Maher, who told The Avondhu that she and her family have had three close calls at the pedestrian crossing, one of which occurred only last week.
