Works under a Traffic Calming Scheme for Doneraile’s main street began this week and have been met with pushback from local residents, who are unhappy with Cork County Council’s plans for the town.

Machinery was brought into Doneraile to commence works this week and was met with calls for the council to call off the works and revisit the plans.

Initially, plans for the town involved changes to the main street, including the widening of footpaths in order to reduce speeds and the installation of a raised table along with a tree-lined avenue, leading into Doneraile from Turnpike Cross.
