Following an extensive refurbishment, the adoration chapel attached to St. Patrick's Church in Fermoy has re-opened.
The new-look centre of worship was officially blessed at a well attended ceremony held on Saturday morning last – tape cutting duties were carried out by parish council secretary, Trisha Joyce and chairperson of the adoration chapel committee, Mairead Scannell – clerics in attendance included Fr. Casey, Fr. Hehir and Fr. Driscoll, also present was designer and architect, Gerry Condon who oversaw the project.
In his remarks, Fr. Casey acknowledged the input of Gerry and the devotion of volunteers whose rota system ensures a 24 hour vigil is maintained at the adoration chapel. Mairead Scannell also praised the chapel's thoughtful design, before going on to appeal for more adoration volunteers.
Following the ceremony, parishioners were invited to view the revamped chapel which will have additional furniture added in the coming weeks.
