Friday night, 13th March, saw crowds arriving at The Firgrove Hotel, Mitchelstown, in anticipation of the 29th Annual CBS Primary Parent Council Fashion Show.

The organisers were truly delighted with the turnout. Fashionistas enjoyed the very best of styles and trends from the following shops/boutiques.

Lil Bo-tique; Tesco; DF Condon; Style Lounge; Ger Hennessy Hat Hire; The Wardrobe; Mister, Mister; The Doll’s House; Bondi Clothing & Tattoo Store; Off The Rails; Diva Accessories; Suzsa; 2 Shoes.

The audience were enthralled by the variety, colour and value, which is to be had right on our doorstep. There really is no requirement what so ever to move outside Mitchelstown, when looking for that outfit for a special event, or casual wear.

Models from the Hilary Thompson Agency strutted their stuff most competently. While the local models, staff from CBS Primary, some familiar faces, pupils from the school and transition pupils from CBS Secondary, very much held their own. The local female models had their hair expertly styled by Staff from Anna-Marie Hair Salon, George's Street.

On arrival, guests were entertained with music from CBS Primary pupils, TJ Bailey, Michael Vincent Flynn and Paddy Corbett. A visual Presentation prepared by CBS Primary, showcased the resources purchased for the school through monies raised down by the years through the Parent Council.

Next up was the cheese (courtesy of Horgan's Deli Supplies) and wine reception, teas/coffees (courtesy of the Firgrove Hotel), muffins (courtesy of CarambolaKidz), soft drinks (courtesy of M&J Gleeson & Co) and treats for all courtesy of Laya Health Care. (Early birds also got goodies courtesy of Horan Health Store).

There were fabulous prizes on the door tickets including Hampers kindly sponsored by Pure Stone Memorials (JJ O'Mahony), Centra/Supervalu (Seán Farrell) & Watersave (Martin Lane).

Abbey Pharmacy also kindly sponsored a spot prize where the assembled had to hunt under their chairs to claim their gift.

Primary Sponsors of the night were Liam Barry of B.H. Tree Services and Acorn Insurance, Fermoy. Acorn Insurance also kindly donated an i-Pad for an in-house raffle, which was won by Catherine Cavanagh.

The male members of the Parent Council and School Staff were looking really dapper in tuxedoes supplied by Val at Mister, Mister, Mitchelstown.

Photography on the night was per, Hilda McMahon of McMahon Photographic Studios, Carole Bradley and John Sheehan, who also double jobbed as a model.

During the interval, guests had the opportunity to view the following trade stands:

Aloe Vera from Kilworth; Alcamo; Abbey Pharmacy; Acorn Life Insurance; Bondi Clothing & Tattoo Store; FM Cosmetics - Irene Tobin; McMahon’s Photographic Studios; O'Sullivans Mobility Aids; Suzsa.

Concurrently, Hilary Thompson was scouring the crowd to find the recipients of much coveted spot prizes. The winners plied their wares on the catwalk to much delight: Most Elegant Lady (sponsored by Abbey Pharmacy) winner Róisín Keane. Bang on Trend (sponsored by Off The Rails) winner Chloe Keating. Most Stylish Handbag (sponsored by Style Lounge) winner Nellie Casey. Most Stylish Accessories (sponsored by Diva Accessories) winner Helen O'Connor. Most Stylish Shoes (sponsored by 2Shoes) winner Teri Harty. Most Flattering Hair Style (sponsored by Lisa Tobin, of Broadway Hair Studio) winner Áine Madden.
