The people of Araglin will recall an important historical event on Saturday, April 27 with a re-enactment of the raid on Araglin R.I.C. Barracks in 1919.
While there was a lot of talk about the 1916 centenary, this was only the starting point of the War of Independence.
Araglin, like a lot of rural areas, was heavily involved in this struggle with men and women joining a variety of nationalist movements in great numbers.
