Almost a quarter (23%) of Munster consumers class themselves as ‘impulse buyers’, with a more restrained 61% saying they are ‘cautious consumers’ who are careful about the money they spend, according to research of 1,000 adults released by Three.
The research also shows that over a half (52%) of Munster people save some money each month, with a further 24% putting money aside less regularly.
However, almost a quarter are still struggling, with 24% saying that they are not able to save money each month.
When it comes to managing their finances, Munster consumers have embraced mobile technology with almost half (48%) agreeing that it has had a positive effect on their spending habits.
58% of respondents also agree that it has made paying for items on the go safe and secure and a massive 81% of people believe mobile technology has made their life easier when it comes to money management.
Munster consumers are choosing convenience over cash, with 59% using debit cards to pay for everyday items.
Over a third (33%) of Munster consumers use their debit cards more frequently than they did last year and 24% are using contactless payment more regularly.
