The people of Mitchelstown are being urged to attend Fermoy Courthouse on Friday, February 1 to protest against the awarding of a gaming licence to Perks Amusements.

An Bord Pleanála granted planning permission to Perks in December 2018 to change the use of the former Weavers Bar at 45 Lower Cork Street to an amusement arcade, stating the proposed development would not seriously injure the amenities of the area or of the property in the vicinity.
