As publicans come to grips with news of their continued lockdown this week, the professionals in the licensed trade believe they could be the solution to ensuring safety in the nation’s bars.
One Mitchelstown vintner believes that pubs would manage the consumption of alcohol and handle the risk of Covid-19 infections far better than amatuer house party hosts.
Justin Finn of J’s Bar in New Square said he and his staff are hugely disappointed by the Government news on Tuesday of a continued block on reopening of the country’s so-called wet bars.
But he believes that he and his colleagues, with their experience, will be far more capable of managing the issue in a safe environment.
