Fermoy’s Twinning Committee intends to break off all communication with Polish town, Nowa Deba. 

The move comes following the discovery that Fermoy’s Polish counterpart has backed a controversial resolution declaring that town to be ‘free from LGBT ideology’.

A spokesperson for the Twinning Committee in Fermoy explained that the issue had only come to its attention within the last week. 

A member of the Committee went on to say: “We would deplore anything associated with any statement of homophobia.”
