The Fir Tree in Watergrasshill was busy last Friday night catering for a number of functions. Upstairs, the focus was firmly on the Watergrasshill minor hurlers and the Watergrasshill U16 ladies football team who had medals to receive.
These are good times for underage GAA activity in Watergrasshill with the production line yielding some very talented individuals.
The club is well represented on the various Cork development squads with Brendan Lehane and Colm O'Regan regarded as very skilful hurlers. At minor level, Denis Ring had Shane O'Regan and Darragh O'Leary on his panel.
The Watergrasshill minors had a very successful year, capturing regional and county honours. Again, this should signal good times ahead for the adult club.
