Plenty competitive bite to parish league finals

Shelia Flynn Park was the venue on Saturday last for the inaugural Kilworth Celtic FC Parish Champions League finals. The competition commenced in early January and gathered approx. 60 participants, boys and girls from U9, U10 and U11 age groups.

In a novel approach, the participants were divided into 8 teams with names referring to townlands in Kilworth parish. Teams participated in a league format, playing seven games each over the course of January. By February, the league standings were as follows, with Glenseskin Villa leading the pack.

1st Glenseskin Villa, 2nd Kilally Wanderers, 3rd St Martin’s Athletic, 4th Sporting Moorepark, 5th Cois Coillte Celtic, 6th Real Macroney, 7th River Douglas Ramblers and 8th Pairc na gCapall Utd.
