Paul Deasy (Castlelyons) recently completed a gruelling 380-mile ultra-marathon challenge from the Eagle Plains, Yukon in Northwest Canada into the Arctic Circle finishing at a location called Tuktoyaktuk on the shore of the Arctic Ocean.
Paul has always loved a challenge and has traversed many deserts and other harsh environments, putting his physical and mental strength to the ultimate test.
“You don’t have to be an athlete to complete a challenge like this. If you decide to do it and put your mind to it, you can,” Paul told The Avondhu this week.
Paul decided to do this challenge in aid of Helping Cork Homeless charity and has raised just shy of €2,000 so far.
