As part of a novel idea co-ordinated by Cork Transport and Mobility Forum, a number of paid parking spaces in both Fermoy and Mitchelstown will be transformed into temporary public parks for one day only.

International PARK(ing) Day is a global experiment which aims to remix, reclaim and reprogramme vehicular space for social exchange, recreation and artistic expression with the help of local artists, designers and residents.

Fermoy and Mitchelstown have been chosen alongside Cobh, Clonakilty and various Cork City locations to try out the idea this year with the support of Cork County Council, Healthy Ireland and the Cork Age Friendly Programme.
