Champion players Michael Judge, former World number 12 from Dublin, David Hogan from Nenagh, 2008 European Senior Champion, Brendan O'Donoghue also from Nenagh, and 2010 World Senior Champion runner-up as well as Rodney Goggins from Wexford, World U21 champion in 2001, are lined up to play against young local snooker fans.
Organiser of the event William Hughes is appealing to all 12 to 18 year olds not to miss the chance to play against one of the top four. Entry is free and so too are table lights for the tournament. Names can be given to any of the club's three committee members, David Joyce, Brian Walsh and Paddy O'Donoghue from this Thursday, October 17.
The event will get underway on Thursday next, October 24 with a handicap round-robin system to determine the top four in the age group. The top four who emerge will play the top four players in Ireland at the event on November 15.
Non members are wecome for the tournament. All proceeds from the event will go to two deserving charities - Cystic Fibrosis Ireland the Cork branch of Epilepsy Ireland.
"I'd like to thank the CMWS committee and superviser Geraldine Butterworth and her CE staff for the assistance they have given me as, without their help, I couldn't have brought this special event together. I'd also like to thank the public for their support with ticket sales," William Hughes said.
