The cast of the Shanowen Players' presentation of 'The Odd Couple' (female version)in rehearsal recently.

Shanowen Players together with Rathcormac Community Council are getting ready for this year’s performance of ‘The Odd Couple’ (female version) by Neil Simon.

It is set in a New York apartment owned by Olive Madison where all the girls meet regularly on Friday nights to play Trivial Pursuit. Only, on this night they are missing one friend, Florence Unger.

As the night goes on, they discover that Florence has been kicked out by her husband, and on her arrival at the apartment, Olive takes pity on her friend and offers Florence a place to stay.

Here lies the plot of the play as the two mismatched friends Florence (a hypochondriac, OCD neat freak, house wife) and Olive (a busy successful sports journalist and self confessed slob) move in together.

‘The Odd Couple’ (female version)’ is a very entertaining and hilarious comedy  that promises to give its audiences plenty to laugh out loud at. The play is directed by Valerie O’Leary and performed by Marie Gubbins (Olive), Catriona Grady (Florence), Betty Cahill (Mickey), Siobhan Buckley (Sylvie), Mags O’Connor (Vera) Carol Marie Dooley (Renee), John Power (Jesus) and Donal O’Leary (Manolo).

Performances are on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of April and the following weekend on the 9th and 10th of April in Rathcormac Community Hall.  Shanowen Players look forward to seeing you there.
