While he ministered in Doneraile, Rathcormac and the parish of Kilworth/Araglin, it's in Castlelyons that An tAtair Peadar O Laogaire is most revered.
A devout priest, with a special interest in the preservation of the Irish language, Peadar O Laogaire was also a noted author and playwright.
Thanks to the efforts of locals, along with Castlelyons Community Council, Cork County Council and Maynooth University, Castlelyons now has a permanent reminder to this inspiring priest, following the unveiling of a bronze bust in the grounds of St. Nicholas' Church last Sunday.
