Upper Glanmire Tidy Towns have come out on top this week as the group were named the winner of the Pride of Cork City, while Fermoy Tidy Towns was announced the winner of the Large Town North Cork, an area that stretches from Mallow and Millstreet to Mitchelstown and Kanturk, encompassing a host of areas north of the Blackwater River.
Speaking with The Avondhu, spokesperson for Fermoy Tidy Towns group Paul Kavanagh, said that it’s great recognition of the community work that’s going on and to have that work recognised by Cork County Council and Muintir na Tire. Mitchelstown, Coolagown and Conna were also amongst the winners.
