Burncourt Drama Group take to the stage on May 19 and 20 with the two-act comedy ‘Nobody’s Talking to Me’ by Tommy Marren.
Set in 1968 in rural Ireland, it’s the eve of the 50th wedding anniversary of Maggie and Mattie Conway who haven’t spoken a single word to each other in 10 years. Disaster strikes when the local parish priest Father O’Toole decides to surprise them by renewing their marriage vows.
All hell breaks loose as a rollercoaster ride follows. With subplots which include a wake next door, an overused handkerchief, a confused kettle, a well-used whiskey bottle and the return of an old flame, the one liners just flow and flow.
Book your seat for a fast-paced two-hour show. Light bites will be served and feel free to bring your own bottle.
Also, on the night a short sketch by Tony Domaille “The Contract Killer”. The mindset of your lovely feline will surprise you.
Tickets at €15 on sale from Maureen 087-2222564, Breeda 087-6967661.
