€200,000 has been drawn down from an overall fund of €1.54 million and an expected completion date of Quarter 4, 2024, has been announced for the Fermoy Town Centre Renewal Project by the Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys.

Despite such updates being announced this week on foot of a parliamentary question issued by Cork East TD Sean Sherlock, Fermoy Forum stated that there have been ‘no updates’ on the RRDF funding and associated project for the town since it was announced well over 18 months ago.

“The regeneration scheme for Fermoy was announced in early January 2022, but there have been no updates since then. The only information available seems to be from The Avondhu“, stated Pat Morrissey, Fermoy Forum committee member.
