For the second year running, the Tallow Horse Fair has been called off due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Founded in 1910, the fair, which would be due to take place this Friday, is one of the biggest days in Tallow’s calendar. However, on Friday last, Waterford City and County Council said the fair ‘cannot happen’ this year.
James Clancy of Clancy’s Bar and Restaurant said that the announcement is one that was expected.
“We understand why it’s not going ahead this year. We were expecting it but our main concern is guaranteeing that it will go ahead next year and won’t be phased out.
