Cork County Council has admitted that constructing speed ramps along Pike Road, Fermoy is the ‘only sensible long-term calming approach’ to the speeding problems that have plagued this stretch of road in recent years.

The admission was in response to a deputation brought by residents of Pike Road to Fermoy Municipal District Council in February of this year.

However, despite acknowledging the need for ramps on this road to deter speeding vehicles, Council officials went on to state that no budget currently existed for such traffic calming measures.
