Golf clubs across the Avondhu region have suffered in the lockdown, but finally it looks like the greens could be set to see a resurgence in the coming weeks.

Clubs across the country were closed down on the advice of the Golfing Union of Ireland and the Irish Ladies Golf Union on March 24.

However, courses in the Republic of Ireland will be permitted to reopen for play on a restricted basis in two weeks time with a large-scale reopening earmarked for June 18.

Many of the clubs have succeeded in weathering the storm, especially those on a sound financial footing.
