A new Garda has been confirmed for Tallow, Government Chief Whip and Minister for Mental Health, Mary Butler TD has confirmed.
The news will come as a relief to many in west Waterford, with several robberies in the area in recent times. Tallow based Garda Jackie Keoghan retired in February.
Minister Butler also said that additional resources for the Lismore area, in the form of another Garda, will be made available in the next 6 to 8 weeks.
