The future of Mount Melleray is looking hopeful once again, with a statement this week outlining positive plans for the historic west Waterford site, following discussions with ‘a like-minded community’.
A statement issued by the Cistercian Abbey of Our Lady of Silence on Tuesday, August 12th, broke some detail of the news.
“We are now pleased to share some hopeful news. We have begun discussions with a like-minded community, united in faith and purpose, who may be able to continue the care of Mount Melleray. If these talks progress well, they will tend this sacred place with devotion, ensuring that its tradition of prayer, welcome, peace, and study remains at the heart of its life,” the statement read.
