There was a tremendous air of excitement at St Joseph's National School, Fermoy last Tuesday as Aidan O’Mahony from Cavanaghs of Fermoy, handed over the keys of the school’s new mini-bus to principal, Kieran McCarthy.

The Barrack Hill school has undergone a huge transformation and now boasts facilities that allow pupils to really embrace 21st century learning, with its hub classroom, cookery room, sensory room, occupational therapy playground, garden and art room.

Acquiring the bus, thanks to the overwhelming support of a local patron, will give the school the additional teaching resource of the outdoor environment.
