Despite a multitude of challenges, the Irish pub remains an important social outlet for many. Having been closed for some time, it's a positive development to see O'Farrell's Bar in Mitchelstown re-opened again under new management.

The bar had its official re-opening recently with David John O'Brien providing a great selection of songs for patrons on the Saturday night. While on the Sunday night, DJ Pat Ronan was the man doing the entertaining. Music, in addition to a drinks promotion, raffle and refreshments, made for an enjoyable time.

In general, Mitchelstown is well served by some excellent bars and O'Farrell's is another attractive option for those who enjoy a night out. Customers can look forward to a friendly atmosphere and good company in a venue that's ideally suited for parties or other social occasions.

The bar is looking forward to catering for a mixed crowd and with the necessary support, it can become an important social hub for the people of Mitchelstown and beyond.
