Fermoy / K2C Boxing Club
Over the last 2 weekends the National Boy 1, 2 and 3 championships took place at the National Stadium in Dublin. This year we had 1 boxer taking to the ring for these championships,12 year old Mark McLoughlin.
Last Thursday week Mark contested his national semi-final by squaring up to Cal O’Brien from Two Castles Boxing Club. This was a cracker of a fight and a very close fight for the entire 3 rounds. Round 1 finished 5 points each, round 2 was 10 points each and round 3, after somewhat o a brawl finished 14 points to 11 points to Cal. This was Mark’s first time boxing in the stadium and was a bit unlucky not to win. Well done Mark.
MUNSTER WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIPS
This Saturday and Sunday will see the Munster women’s championships take place in Castleisland, County Kerry. This year we have 4 boxers contesting these championships - Shannon O’Connor, Amy Leahy, Tiegan Rusell and Maggie Cullen. Best of luck girls.
