‘There’s life in the old dog yet’. That’s the message from road bowler supreme, Andrew O’Leary. After a gruelling season, the Fermoy native is taking a well deserved break having won county, Munster and All-Ireland honours this year.
“I knew 2024 was a make or break year for me, the first thing I did was work on my fitness. This was hard as I’d had a serious injury – around March, I stepped things up and was doing a lot of walking and a lot of exercise, I was starting to feel much better. But you never know until you face your opponent out there on the road,” Andrew told The Avondhu this week.
“I’m delighted with how the year has gone, with my father, Paddy, passing away, it was tough, however, winning an All-Ireland is a dream come through, it’s like winning the lotto,” he said.
