Forrest Hall, which is a fantastic amenity for the people of Mitchelstown and surrounding areas, hosted a recent meeting of Muintir na Tire representatives.

The delegates, which included CEO, Niall Garvey were greeted by Sean Finn, chairman of Mitchelstown Community Council and one of those who spearheaded the campaign to redevelop the Forrest Hall site.

Thanks to a collective effort, this modern facility is now capable of accommodating a range of community related activities.

As well as being a regular venue for meetings, it’s also home to Cloyne Dioscean Youth Services.

Speaking to The Avondhu, Mr. Garvey said Muintir na Tire continues to play a key role in supporting community groups, be they in large urban settings or rural villages.

He cited Community Alert as an example of what communities could achieve to make their areas safer.

He went on to say Muintir na Tire was always available to help and advise communities in matters relating to planning, development and finance.
