Avondhu area memories from December 1992
Until the end of December, there is a host of artwork on display in Mitchelstown Library, courtesy of the artists from the Actively Retired Group and Circle of Friends in the town.
With a mixture of landscapes, stills, animals, depictions from nature and scenes which people would recognise, the pieces would make the ideal Christmas gift, as some of the works of art are for sale. Ranging from €60 to €130, the pieces are all beautifully done and some of them are quite inspiring.
Many of the artists only took up art in their later years and they have really excelled at it, as the works on display are brilliant. All are welcome to view the pieces on display during library opening hours until the end of the month, and if anyone wishes, they can enquire in the library about purchasing any of the pieces.
