At the handover of the funds raised, were, front l-r: Wayne McCarthy, Anne O'Donnell, Kevin Shanahan, Mattie O'Sullivan, Liam O'Donnell, Joan Kent, Anne Morrison and Andrew Dineen; Back: Aaron Walsh, Tony Fitzgerald, Maurice Walsh and Tim Forde.

Some of the organisers and volunteers from The Motors for Marymount event gathered in The Hunters Rest recently to present the mighty sum of €5,250 which was raised in conjunction with Saint George’s Arts and Heritage Centre and Liam O’Donnell.

There was phenomenal turnout from motorists on Sunday, 24th September for the fundraising run, despite the atrocious weather conditions that prevailed on the day. The event took place from The Firgrove Hotel in Mitchelstown and the participating cars, motorbikes, tractors, lorries, vans and trucks travelled out to Knockanevin, on to Glenahulla and back into Mitchelstown.

Accepting the cheque on behalf of The Friends of Marymount recently was Joan Kent, a local volunteer and supporter of the Hospice. Well done to everyone concerned.
