Despite some fairly challenging weather conditions for the organisers and drivers, Motors for Marymount which took place from the Firgrove Hotel, Mitchelstown was a resounding success with over €5,000 raised for Marymount University Hospital and Hospice.
Organised by Liam O’Donnell and the team at Saint George’s Arts and Heritage Centre, they were blown away by the generosity of people and businesses to the fundraiser, further evidence of the impact Marymount and its professionals and services have had on the lives of almost every family throughout the region.
The funds raised will be presented to the Hospice soon, hopefully helping to reduce the €3 million fundraising requirement that these vital services need to source each year.
Motors for Marymount was launched the night before the run (Saturday), amid scenes of jubilation and some tension in the aftermath of the hair raising Irish Rugby World Cup victory over the Springboks in France.
