Driving conditions were ideal for last Sunday's well attended vintage run organised by members of Rathcormac Vintage Club.

Despite counter attractions, 47 tractors and 15 cars took part with the swifter moving automobiles being assigned a 23 mile scenic route of East Cork. The run started and finished in Rathcormac with some welcome refreshments being served in The Rathcormac Inn.

Here, club chairman, Jim Dunne, thanked everyone for making the event such a success. Before concluding, a minute's silence was observed in memory of the late Tim Forde from Glenville.

The run has a history of benefitting good causes and this year, organisers chose the Fermoy branch of the National Council For The Blind Of Ireland - a charity that does outstanding work with the visually impaired.

As part of the post-run formalities, the Myrtle Forde Perpetual Cup was presented to the owner of 'best car', in this case, Michael Leahy from Carraig-na-bhFear whose P4 Rover 90 (1959) was a poplular winner. The attractive trophy was presented by Joe Forde.
