Mitchelstown Community Council won both the Social Inclusion Award and the Pride Of County Cork Award at this year’s Pride in Our Community Competition.
Their project was the development of Forrest Hall from a derelict building to a magnificent community centre for all the people of Mitchelstown but particularly for youth and the elderly.
Mitchelstown Community Council PRO Michael White said it was an honour to receive two awards on the night and praised the work of chairman Sean Finn and fellow committee members.
“It was a great night. All the various groups congratulated us and said the Forrest Hall development was a fantastic project …”
