
A Mitchelstown woman has been appointed to a major United Nations role dealing with the global fight against people trafficking.
Professor Siobhan Mullally, who went to school at the Presentation Convent, has been a leading international expert on human rights law.
She is currently director of the Irish Centre for Human Rights at NUI Galway.
She previously worked for a number of years on the Council of Europe’s Group of Experts on Action Against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA).
