A Mitchelstown mother has revealed that she escaped with her life 'by the grace of God' after being involved in the much-publicised school bus crash at Caherconlish, Co Limerick last week.

Mary Meaney, a mother of three from Ardwillan, Mitchelstown was travelling to UL in Limerick when she saw the oncoming bus travelling on the wrong side of the road.

“It happened so fast my mind couldn't register or react in time. I innately knew that I was facing death in the face. I was emotionally detached as if I was watching an action packed film, but it was a reality. The car swerved and I opened my eyes, I was alive with no serious injuries. That was a God moment for sure.”
