Prizes for the Mitchelstown Enhancement Awards and Schools Essay Competition will be presented on Tuesday night next, November 11 at 8pm in The Firgrove Hotel.

AROMA Tidy Towns group who organise the presentation of prizes, are encouraging all participants to attend, as the winners will not be notified in advance of the presentation.

The awards are a great way to get different estates and areas in the town actively involved in keeping the town tidy and presenting it well, while the prizes also motivate groups and areas to work hard, as their efforts will be recognised and rewarded.

The schools essay competition is also integral to the awards as it is a way for young people to get involved, give their ideas on tidy town plans and suggest ways to bring the town forward.

Both of these strengthen Mitchelstown’s efforts when it comes to the Tidy Towns competition, as people from across the community are consistently working hard to tidy, maintain and improve their own areas, which means that all areas are working away in the background in the lead up to the judging.
