Plans for the new Mitchelstown car park have been revealed as the council have confirmed their Covid-19 delayed construction work will begin next month.
There are set to be 51 spaces at the James’s Street facility, as it finally looks to be on the way since it was first mooted back in 2017.
The construction project was given the green light in October 2020, but enforced regulations around Covid-19 stalled the project further. It will now begin in March 2021 when the regulations for construction work are expected to be eased by Government.
Cllr Deirdre O’Brien welcomed the news and said it was a major step forward for the town.
