Minister visits to discuss local issues

Cork East TD James O’Connor and local councillors recently met with the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage Darragh O’Brien, during a visit to the Respond housing project in Fermoy. 

Minister O’Brien met with the local representatives to discuss their concerns.

“It is vitally important that every person that needs a home can get a home and developments such as the Respond housing development is a step in the right direction,” Deputy O’Connor said.  

The Cork East Deputy also discussed with the minister about expanding the capacity of wastewater facilities and ongoing issues with Irish Water that are preventing the planning and completion of housing developments in the area.

Minister O’Brien held several meetings across Cork county on Monday last. He visited County Hall and met a number of Fianna Fáil councillors, including Frank O’Flynn, William O’Leary and Deirdre O’Brien, to discuss pressing housing and water development issues for the area which the local councillors have been working on in recent months.
