Irish farmers are the backbone of our rural communities, and National Cultivate Week is all about celebrating their hard work while highlighting financial solutions designed with them in mind.
This year, Robert Troy, Minister of State at the Department of Finance, officially launched the event, which runs from 7–13 April. Cultivate Credit Unions nationwide will mark the week with local and national events, showcasing how they support farmers and their families through fast, flexible, and farmer-focused finance.
At Synergy Credit Union, we’re proud to serve the farming community across Araglin, Ballyduff, Ballyhooly, Castlelyons, Castletownroche, Conna, Glanworth, Glenville, Fermoy, Kilworth, Kildorrery, Leamlara, Rathcormac, Watergrasshill and surrounding areas.
Our lending team, Rose and Marie, are available all week to discuss quick and hassle-free farm finance solutions, with decisions made locally.

Pat Morrissey and Sam Murphy will be at Fermoy Mart on Tuesday, 8th April – drop by for a chat (and a cake!) about how a Cultivate loan could work for you.
WHAT IS CULTIVATE?
Cultivate is a unique initiative driven by credit unions, offering short to medium-term loans built specifically for the needs of Irish farmers. Since its launch in 2017 by four Galway credit unions, it has grown rapidly and is now available at 175 locations nationwide. Cultivate loans offer:
• Quick loan approvals
• Flexible repayment plans
• Personal, local service
• Unsecured lending up to €75,000 for 10 years
Speaking at the Launch, Therese Conway, CEO of Collaborative Finance, said: “National Cultivate Week is a celebration of Irish farmers and the communities that support them. Cultivate loans are built around the realities of farm life—flexibility, speed, and personal service. The surge in demand since 2017 proves that this approach works. We are proud to have the support of Minister Robert Troy and look forward to meeting farmers at events across the country during the week.”
