41 volunteers from a global biopharmaceutical company based in Carrigtwohill spent more than 196 hours recently to create a dedicated outdoor classroom space for the teachers and primary school students of Scoil Bhríde in Midleton.
AbbVie, a global biopharmaceutical company which has a manufacturing facility in Carrigtwohill, recently celebrated its ninth annual ‘Week of Possibilities’. The initiative is the company’s signature community volunteering programme, empowering company employees to personally improve the localities where they live and work.
The company’s volunteers also transformed an old storage room into a calming nurture room in its Cuisle Centre for students with autistic spectrum disorder needs. Colourful playground markings were also added to the schoolyard to encourage fun and active breaktimes.
