Musician Michael Cahill, a late replacement for the unavailable Dermot Lyons, stepped up to the mark in some style, by turning in a brilliant performance in Kilbehenny Community Centre last Friday night. Despite counter attractions, a very large crowed attended the centre’s first social dance of 2026.
Dermot, a native of Caherconlish, was unable to attend due to illness and his many fans in The Avondhu area and beyond wish him a speedy recovery.
Michael, who made the short trip from Mitchelstown, had the floor full from the first dance and this trend continued all night. As is normal in Kilbehenny, patrons took a break for a very welcome ‘pit stop’. Here, dancers were treated to some delightful refreshments courtesy of the organising committee. A special mention to Nora Scannell and Sr. Christine from Fermoy, for giving a hand with the catering – they are good friends of Kilbehenny and rarely miss a dance.
